Understanding the Apex

The apex is the highest point of an enhancement, located at the weakest point of the nail. It provides balance and strength to the nail, and it should be visible from every angle.

When is an Apex Necessary?

Not every nail set requires an apex. For medium- or shorter-length nails, an apex is not necessary. With proper application of the acrylic, the tip will be strong enough without one.

How to Create an Apex

To create an apex, follow these steps:

1. Prep the nail for traditional gel application.
2. Apply a form and use builder gel to apply a thin layer to the nail.
3. Flash cure for 10 to 30 seconds, depending on the gel used.
