Free Insulation Scheme To Help People Cut Energy Bills
Government launches new scheme to help people reduce their energy bills
Low-income households and those in certain EPC bands eligible for free or subsidized insulation
The government has launched a new scheme to help people reduce their energy bills by providing free or subsidized insulation for their homes.
The Great British Insulation Scheme (GBIS) is a new energy efficiency scheme that aims to improve the energy efficiency of homes and reduce energy bills.
The scheme is open to low-income households and those living in properties with an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) rating of D, E, F or G.
Eligible households can apply for a range of energy efficiency measures, including insulation, double glazing and heating upgrades.
The scheme is administered by Ofgem, the energy regulator, and is funded by a levy on energy suppliers.
The government estimates that the scheme could help to reduce energy bills by up to £600 a year for eligible households.
